Privacy Policy

InternNow (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an internship tracking and career preparation platform built for business students. We are currently operated as a student project and are not affiliated with Virginia Tech or any university.

Account data — name, email address, university, major, graduation year, and target career roles you provide when you sign up.

Usage data — the internship applications, company contacts, interview sessions, and notes you create inside the app.

Preference data — your dark/light mode setting and other UI preferences stored in your browser's localStorage.

Voice recordings — if you use voice mode in Mock Interview, audio is recorded in your browser and sent to our server for transcription. We do not store the audio after transcription. The transcript is stored as part of your session history.

Log data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These are retained for 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

• To provide the InternNow service — application tracking, AI interview prep, career briefings, and job opportunity matching.
• To personalize your experience — the major, target roles, and school you provide are used to tailor AI-generated content to your career path.
• To send you transactional emails — account confirmation, password reset. We do not send marketing emails.
• To improve the product — aggregated, anonymized usage patterns help us understand which features are most useful.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

We share data with the following services to operate InternNow:

• Supabase — database and authentication. Your account data and app data are stored in Supabase. Privacy Policy
• OpenAI — AI-generated content (job search, interview questions/feedback, career briefs, Career Explorer content, voice transcription). Text you submit to those features is processed by OpenAI. Privacy Policy
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-generated content for the AI Coach, AI Tools, learning, and company briefs. Text you submit to those features is processed by Anthropic. Privacy Policy
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-friendly “are you human?” check on our sign-up/sign-in forms to prevent bot abuse. Privacy Policy
• Resend — sends account confirmation and password-reset emails on our behalf. Privacy Policy
• Vercel — hosting and infrastructure. Privacy Policy

These providers process your data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account from Profile → Delete account, your profile, applications, companies, contacts, saved fields, and related data are permanently deleted right away (backups, if any, age out shortly after).

You have the right to:

• Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account. This is irreversible.
• Correct — update your profile information at any time from the Profile page.
• Access — email us to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Contact us — email support@internnow.org for any privacy request we can't handle via the app.

We use industry-standard security practices: HTTPS for all data in transit, row-level security on our database so users can only access their own data, and HTTP-only cookies for session tokens. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe you've found a vulnerability, please email support@internnow.org.

InternNow is intended for users 16 and older (college students). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and notify active users by email. Continued use of InternNow after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
